Merchandiser Support Team (MST) was founded. Rod Smith and Steve Wright spotted an opportunity to increase book sales in The Warehouse and capture more market share by raising the standard of category management.
MST begins to expand beyond books to serve other categories with their innovative approach. New clients include Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Universal, Paramount, Fox, E-One Studios, and E-Pay gift cards.
Topline Marketing joins MACVAD. Topline, a well-established player in the FMCG industry in New Zealand, is acquired by MACVAD in order to help them provide merchandising and distribution services for their range of products.
Product Placement is founded. Over the next few years, the team at Product Placements deliver product activation, in-store sampling and product launch services to a range of top brands around New Zealand.
Product Placement joins MST. Rod, Steve and the team see an opportunity to expand the range of services they provide to their clients. The vision for Engagement Group emerges – to provide end-to-end retail services.
Topline Marketing joins MST and Product Placements. Topline, a major player in the FMCG and grocery markets, will expand the groups merchandising reach, and allow them to offer brokerage, wholesale and agency services.
Engagement Group begins. With a new brand, world-class team, and a new open-plan office, Engagement Group launches.
